The Indeed filter in short

Smart Filter checks each job in Indeed search results as the page loads, on indeed.com and Indeed's country sites such as uk.indeed.com. A job is read by its title, company and the snippet's bullet points, up to 400 characters; location, salary and date are not part of it. A keyword rule such as senior*, lead* matches words; an AI rule such as commission-only jobs or requires 10+ years of experience describes a kind of job. A match folds into a Hidden line with a Show button, or is blurred or dimmed. Smart Filter sends nothing to Indeed.

What it filters on Indeed

Search results

Each job card is checked on its own as the page loads, on every search you run.

Keywords for titles

A keyword rule such as senior*, lead*, principal hides roles above your level for free, on every search at once.

Jobs by what they are

An AI rule such as commission-only jobs reads the title, company and snippet the way you would.

Location and salary stay with Indeed

Rules read the title, company and snippet. Use Indeed's own filters for place, pay and date.

Rules worth trying on Indeed

Keyword rules suit words that titles really use. AI rules catch a kind of job, whatever its title says. The keyword blocker page explains the patterns.

Filtering Indeed: common questions

How do I filter Indeed jobs by keyword?

Click the Smart Filter icon on an Indeed search and type a keyword rule such as senior*, lead*. It hides every job whose title, company or snippet uses those words, on every search, before you see it. Keyword rules are free and run on your device.

Can I hide commission-only jobs?

Yes. Add the suggested AI rule commission-only jobs. It reads each job's title, company and snippet and hides the ones that pay by commission alone, whatever words they use.

Can I filter by salary or location?

No. Location, salary and date are not part of the text a rule reads. Indeed's own filters cover them, and Smart Filter's rules run on top.

How many credits does an Indeed search use?

Keyword rules use none. AI rules come with up to 10,000 credits to start, and one credit checks one job against one AI rule: a page of 15 jobs and one AI rule uses up to 15 credits. Jobs you have seen before are not charged again. Plans and top-ups add more.

Does Indeed see that I filter?

No. Smart Filter changes the page only in your browser and sends nothing to Indeed. AI rules send the rule and up to 400 characters of each job to Smart Filter's server, and only after you agree; your Indeed account, your search and the page address are not part of it. See the privacy policy.
