Timeline posts
Posts in your timeline are checked, For you and Following. Smart Filter reads the name line and the post text.
Replies
Replies under a post are checked the same way, so a rule can clear giveaway spam out of the replies below a popular post.
Hidden, not gone
A hidden post leaves a quiet Hidden line with a Show button. Pick Blur or Dim instead if you still want to see what was caught.
Timestamps ignored
The age of a post ("2h") is left out of what is read, so a post is checked once and not again as it gets older.

Keyword rules or AI rules
Use a keyword rule for words you can name, and an AI rule for what you can only describe. Both work together on the same page.

Set up the Twitter / X filter in three steps
- Install Smart Filter from the Chrome Web Store. It needs no account and no API key.
- Add a rule. Open x.com and click the Smart Filter icon. The popup suggests engagement bait and giveaway spam in replies; add one with a click or type your own.
- Choose how it looks. Pick Hide, Blur, Dim or Show only. Hide is the default: a hidden post leaves a quiet Hidden line, and Show brings it back.

How do I filter replies on X?

Does the filter work on Twitter?
Smart Filter works on x.com, the site formerly called Twitter. Rules you write for twitter.com are the same rules as for x.com.
What does Smart Filter read in a post?
The name line and the post text, up to 400 characters in total. The post age, like counts and images are not part of it.
